Is it dangerous?
Let me tell you a short story. I bought the Head & Holder shampoo and I used it for two mouths, and I started to feel and see the irritations on the head, the appearance of dandruff, and increased hair loss. I was so upset by this. And I thought what is going on why is that? I took the shampoo to look for ingredients, and I found out that there is a bunch of word and term that I have no clue what do these ingredients do to my hair and skin. So, I started the research on the facts how they affect on human body and in general about each components. My eyebrows rose so high that they are almost touched my starting point on my forehead. My eyes rolled ...No, I was nourish my hair with poisons. Immediately, I ran to my bathroom took the shampoo and trough it away so no body in my family couldn't use this shampoo again. Then, my dad asking me, where is the shampoo? I explained the facts, and from then my family look for every product ingredient. Here are the facts about sodium lauryn:
1. It is a known skin irritant. When cosmetic companies need to test the healing properties of a lotion, they need toirritate the skin first. How did they use to do this? SLS of course. If you have dandruff, dermatitis, canker sores, or irritated skin, it could be due to SLS.
2. It pollutes our groundwater. SLS is toxic to fish and other aquatic animals and has the potential for bioaccumulation (meaning it accumulates in the bodies of the fish.) It also is undetected in many municipal water filters, getting into the tap water that you drink.
3. It helps other chemicals get into your body. SLS is a penetration enhancer, meaning that its molecules are so small they’re able to cross the membranes of your body’s cells. Once cells are compromised, they become more vulnerable to other toxic chemicals that may be with the SLS.
So, is it dangerous? Judge for yourself. Now you are aware what and where is sodium lauryn sulfate. What would be your decision?
